The Trousers is a four piece garage rock/hard rock band from Budapest, Hungary, EU mixing vintage hard rock n roll (The Rolling Stones, Iggy and The Stooges, AC/DC) with contemporary song-oriented garage rock (The Hellacopters, BRMC). Nomoredivision.com wrote the following about them: „The four-piece band from Budapest, Hungary called The Trousers rock out better than most bands from the west… The band has the perfect amount of swag, attitude and spirit that has all but been lost amongst mainstream pop/rock.”
The band was formed in 2006, they released their first, a bit more indie-like album “Planetary Process” in 2008, and their first single “Blood for you” was a huge hit in Hungary but it was also released in France and in the USA. The second album, “Soul Machine” left all the indie aspects behind, it was 100% pure hard rock n roll, so it 2011 it was nominated as “best hard rock album of the year” in their home country. In 2013 the band released “Freakbeat”, which was a great step forward. On one of the songs, “Real Deep Groove” their long-time hero, Nicke Andersson from Sweden (The Hellacopters,
Imperial State Electric) played an incredible guitar solo, while the album itself had very positive reviews in Hungary and in several countries all over the world, In 2014 it was nominated for “best hard rock album of the year”. Next year, 2015 the band published “Mother of Illusion”, which have had enthusiastic critics from all over the world, for example modernrockreviews.com from the US wrote “the energy and enthusiasm are straight forward and contagious, the songs are crafted with a distinct style which never lulls and makes this album an entirely enjoyable listen from beginning to end”. The video for “Hysterical Route” was also a great success, in Spain it was “video of the world” and had been broadcasted in several countries from Switzerland to Australia.
